LYRIC O’ THE DAY:
You’re so perfect, you’re so right as rain
You make me, make me, make me hungry again
--Why Can’t I Be You? The Cure
Very excited to say that today I’m joining Rachael Harrie’s Third Writer’s Platform-Building Champagne. This event seeks to link those of like mind, purpose, and taste and mesh them into a network of writerly love and Cristal.
Didn’t know anything about this before, but here’s what she’s looking for:
“bloggers in a similar position, who genuinely want to pay it forward, make connections and friends within the writing community, and help build each others' online platforms while at the same time building theirs”
In other words:
*Meet new bloggers
**Meet new writer friends
***Participate in fun bloggy challenges.
For a baby blogger like me, this sounds like a blast.
You can sign up between now and August 31st and the campaign runs until October 31st. First challenge is September 5th.
But I couldn’t help but wonder, when does the champagne come in? There are so many possibilities: champagne cocktails, champagne cake, champagne sauce, champagne soup, champagne granita, champagne frosting, champagne vinaigrette. . .I can put Forrest Gump's shrimp to shame.
Hmmm?
What’s that?
Oh.
Color me embarrassed.
Still good. And just as bubbly.
Hope to meet you there.
I dunno. A Platform-building champagne would be pretty cool too! (Hee.) Just a campaigner dropping by to say hello!
ReplyDeleteHello Julie. Thanks for finding/following me. So nice to meet you fellow campaigner. Hope there's lots of chances to interact, and maybe sip a virtual champers or too, ha ha.
ReplyDeleteDenise
Great to meet you fellow campaigner!
ReplyDeleteSuper funny :) You got me, for a while I thought you were serious. I was worried...then I couldn't stop laughing.
ReplyDeleteI participated in the second campaign and was probably the worst participant ever. I learned my lesson and decided to sit this one out. Good luck to you though. Always look forward to reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking part in the campaign too, but champagne sounds good too. An extra challenge, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteWishing you success in the campaign

I am ALL about the champagne! I think it should be a mandatory part of each campaign challenge. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog!
Good luck with the campaign! I look forward to tuning in. Julie
ReplyDeleteCalling it a champagne works for me! I'm in the "champagne" as well, and I look forward to seeing what unfolds. Good to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI was super excited when I read champagne and was set to make a toast. Although we're banding together in this CAMPAIGN, there's no reason we can't break out the bubbly :)
ReplyDeleteAlright, you sold me. I've been thinking of joining this. Champagne with strawberries if you please. :)
ReplyDeleteyou had me going!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you think- champagne all the way! Glad to meet you and looking forward to campaigning with you!
ReplyDeleteLOL...this sounds like a great opportunity. Heading over there now.
ReplyDeleteYou had me at champagne and it's campaign?! I feel cheated. :) But seriously looks fun. I'll check it out!
ReplyDeleteLove that Cure song.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds interesting, although I was much more interested when champagne was involved. Thanks for the laugh. : )
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this before. I looked up her link and sent her an email to see if my blog would qualify. I'm just a blogger :)
ReplyDeleteI tried to get on and campaign, but I have to blog about it..and I need some time for that!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Julie! Fellow romance first-time campaigner stopping in to say hi. Nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteCute lyric.
Ha ha, just dropping by to say I'm a fellow campaigner as well as old follower! ;)

HOLY SMOKES!! It's a commentastic day! Like tribbles, they're popping up everywhere! This is going to be one wild ride of a campaign. Thanks to all of you for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm on a speed date, only nobody's staring at my boobs. At least not yet.
If you are a new campaigner, I can't wait to meet you. We'll get to know each other over romantic candlelit dinners and talk about our dreams and hopes and fears while staring hopelessly into each other's blogs. And I'm thinking about you naked. Figuratively, of course.
If we've been together awhile, I appreciate the support and connection. We've bonded and I trust you. You know some of my secrets but occasionally I'll throw in a surprise or two just to keep the romance alive (you do remember the furry pink handcuffs?) But most nights, I'm wearing my cat pajamas. I also may pass gas in front of you occasionally. Figuratively speaking, of course.
Let the dating begin!
Popping over on a champagne...er, campaign stop. Pleased to meet you, Julie.
ReplyDeleteHa. I LOVE champagne! Cristal? Really??? Yum. I'm going to head over there this month and sign up, too. What a great idea. It would be so nice if Rachel would have the drinkable bubbly ready, too.
ReplyDeleteHello fellow campaigner, great to meet you and I'm looking forward to reading your posts and writings:)
ReplyDeleteYou'll make a ton of new blogging friends that way!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the challenge...so nice to meet a fellow campaigner.
ReplyDeleteEdge of Your Seat Romance
I suppose a tequila is out of the question?
ReplyDeleteYou quoted lyrics from The Cure. I'm going to like it here :)
What a wonderful opportunity. And you're so brave to do it. A-Z burned me out for awhile and that was like, months ago.
ReplyDeleteI'm a total sucker for The Cure! Love them. Glad to be on the campaign trail with you! :)
ReplyDeleteThe second platform-building campaign that Rach ran earlier this year is responsible for much of my online contacts.
ReplyDeleteStopping by to say hi. I'm in your campaign group! Love the blog background (mine's the same- haha).
ReplyDeleteI'll check this out. Not to push it, but will there be chocolate too?
ReplyDeletexoRobyn
And well, that's about all you can make with Champagne.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI'm making my rounds through my Campaigner groups. Nice to meet you :)
Love how you start your posts with song lyrics!
Hello to all my new visitors! Hopefully I will not bore or offend. I look forward to getting to know you all!
